Alas Mateen's random Mum, as much as she likes to and wishes she does, just doesn't have it in her to take religious photos of Mateen in action. She will, however, attempt to leave records of whatever captured here:

In addition, Mateen has walked 90 minutes to and fro home and the Rangers' hut at the HSBC Treetop Walk. Clap! Clap! Erm did I mention that he has since refused to do that again? But that's okay cos knowing his capacity to workout just opened up a world of possibilities to Mummy! Heh Heh! Mummy and son have since walked to Bishan (30 Minutes) and will do Macritche or one of the other reservoirs today! :)

Mummy will endeavour to take more photos of upcoming events! :p

Mateen was really having fun at swim class and Mummy hoped for this weekly session to build fitness into his lifestyle but alas it is not meant to be. For some mysterious reason his instructor is no longer able to teach, leaving Mateen and mummy in the lurch after a futile 30-minute wait at the pool last Sunday.

AHA! Mummy has finally gotten around to posting some of these photos taken of me and my friends!YEAH!

Najya and I at Pasir Ris Beach. She is really my cousin but I think she is more of a friend. Her brothers Abang Nadir and Dzafir are also my friends. Sorry Abangs! My mummy can't find a good photo of me with you guys. I'll make sure she post our photo next time!

The Jacob Ballas Children's Garden is one of my favourite places! That's Najya again in the red t-shirt. Abang Nadir was busy with his new friend that day. Too bad!

Look! My new friends! :) I don't know where they are now but the gor gor (in red) was very nice to me. He lent me his game boy to play on the coach. The other people in the photo are his sister, mother, father and grandmothers.

Oh boy. Here my mummy goes again. She seems to be obsessed with every little drawing I make! How embarassing. Maybe it is the Art Teacher in her. Maybe it was what she studied in th Child Development in Art module during her NIE days. She thinks my drawings show some kind of developmental patterns.

What on earth is that?

I was just bored when I drew these. Mummy had to do something to the tyres of our car and brought me along to this place with lots of car lifted high my head. There were uncles in uniforms doing things under the cars. From the room where I waited with mummy, all I saw were cars. Mummy tried entertaining me but I guess she is not very good at that sometimes so we ended up doing our own things. She read a magazine and I drew.

I drew because I was bored. Poor mummy. If only she knew. :P

Mateen Is Back!

Hello I am back! Okay my mummy is still typing for me and making sure the English is grammatically correct because I am still quite young. maybe she will relax a bit and let me type soon.

Anyway I want to say that I watched Ben Ten on KC at the Movies last week. I really liked it because the monsters died at the end of the movie. I also like it when Ben changed into Gilvex (I'm not sure if this is the spelling. My mummy doesn't know too) and back into Ben again.

I went to my Mai Por's (grand aunty) house yesterday. I was mostly a good boy except when I quarelled with my Ah Gong (grandfather). I drew two pictures on top which my mummy was quite impressed with. I like my drawings. I like to draw.

"I DON'T SPEAK MANDARIN YOU KNOW!!!!!"

That's what Mateen loudly declared when we mooted the idea of him going for Mandarin class. He's gone for 2 lessons so far and seems to be enjoying it though he still likes to pretend he couldn't care less about it. Or so I'd like to think! :?

I'm making big efforts to speak to him in Mandarin so he'll be more receptive and pick it up faster. It's quite enjoyable an experience for myself actually.

So far, he's learnt about fruits: apple, watermelon, banana, strawberry, orange and papaya. Quite good at reciting a rapper version of a fruit rhyme :) Oops! I sound too much like a boasting mummy now...

I'm very conscious of not stressing him out with this Mandarin class. It really should be more fun then a tearing-my-hair-out session right?

In the light of Mateen almost being as almost net-savvy as me, I figured I'd better jump on the Info Tech band wagon before he catches up with me. So this blog has been created as some sort of practice and keeping up with the hi-tech times.

Also, this is an opportunity for me to air my concerns, joy and apprehensions about motherhood and this baby who is growing up really quickly.
